Nokia Lumia 710 Accessories Nokia Lumia 710 Accessories The Nokia Lumia 710 was the second Windows Phone 7 device to be manufactured by Nokia.

Even though this device has most of the similar specs as the Lumia 800, one of the key differences that was noted was the affordable price and the amount of Nokia Lumia 710 accessories that were at its disposal. This device runs on Windows latest phone OS, Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. Much like other Windows Phone devices you will come to find that the Lumia 710 also has an easy to use UI, a fast processor and a very reliable smart phone.

Even though the touch screen is fairly small, the 3.7 inch touch screen is still capable of delivering quality images and video. The screen resolution of this device is 480 x 800 pixels and it has a pixel density of 252 ppi. Fairly impressive stuff from a fairly small touch screen. You can use Nokia Lumia accessories to such as screen protectors to help keep your touch screen scratch free at all times.

The Lumia 710 features a single core 1.4 GHz Snapdragon processor and it also comes with 512 MB of RAM.

The processor features a graphics card that enables the user to watch or play pretty much any video or game they want. This phone also comes with 8 GB of internal storage for all of your media files. Unfortunately, there is no miroSD memory card slot on this device so users will not be able to expand on their memory.

The 1300 mAh battery is not the biggest but it is enough for this smart phone. You will not need to upgrade batteries unless you really like to push your smart phone to the limit or if you use the device all day without rest. There are always Nokia Lumia 710 accessories that can enhance the battery life of your smart phone. Some of those accessories consist of chargers, portable batteries, spare batteries and even data cables.

Micro Emphasis Cobol Modernization | Cobol Migration | Cobol Conversion | ResQSoft

Or is the question related to getting rid of the customers existing Micro Focus COBOL and replacing it with a Java or .NET application? Ive found that either could be the case. Taking the first possibility, moving off the mainframe might be a good thing, but why stay with the COBOL?

Youve gotten rid of the mainframe, and maybe saved $1m per year or more. But youve traded one vendor lock-in (your mainframe company) for another (Micro Focus), and you still have to recruit, train, or steal COBOL programmers. Doesnt Micro Focus have monopoly pricing power for COBOL licenses? Theyre not teaching COBOL to most freshman computer science graduates, and those of us that wrote it in the 70s and 80s are more than eligible for retirement.

Worse, you dont have the wide variety of open source software and great development tools to choose from if you stick with COBOL, and its difficult to build highly responsive web applications using what will soon be a 50 year old computer language!

Im often struck, also, by the cost of this kind of Micro Focus COBOL Modernization project. COBOL is COBOL, right? So why does it take years and millions of dollars to move it from one computer to another?

Well, actually there are good reasons, starting with the somewhat mistaken idea that COBOL is COBOL, and moving past the compatibility problems to the performance and security issues. You dont have RACF or DASD channels in your new environment! Modernizing the mainframe COBOL to Java or .NET instead might cost a little more, or it might not. But, instead of just postponing the inevitable moment when the COBOL programmers are just not available, why not modernize once to something you know is going to be here 20 years from now?
